  Are you covered on your HOME policy? Yes,  tornadoes are covered in New York as part of ‘WIND’ coverage and not excluded. In some states, like Florida, ‘Wind’ is excluded from standard home policies. You are forced to buy wind coverage if desired. This is very similar to Flood coverage, which is excluded from policies and you must buy back coverage if desired on a separate policy.

  However, in New York, ‘Wind’ coverage (including tornadoes) are covered on Home owners policies. We, your personal, accountable and reachable agents are here for you.
