If your teen is going to be attending the prom this year, you’re probably already busy making plans for this festive event.  Whether you’re searching for just the right dress or renting a
tux, this is an exciting and fun time in your teenager’s life.

As you set the guidelines for the night, be sure to consider the driving arrangements.  You
hear a lot about the dangers of distracted driving these days, and there’s probably no
bigger distraction than attending an event of this type.

If at all possible, hire a driver for the night.  It’s another way to make your teens feel special
and a great way to ensure their safety. Prom night is typically a late night with a lot of partying.
Even if your teens can be trusted not to indulge, do you want to make them the people
responsible for the safety of others on this special night?
Most of us have been the designated driver for friends and family from time to time.  I don’t
know about you, but I don’t usually enjoy the event as much as the people I’m transporting.
There will be plenty  of time for your teen to learn this lesson; there’s no reason it has to be
on prom night.

Plus with all the fuss over clothes, flowers, hair and pictures you deserve some peace of mind
when your teens are finally on their way.  Be good to them and yourself and relax knowing they
are traveling in as safe a circumstance as you can make it.

According to witnesses at the scene, the striking vehicle is described as a full size pick up truck, black or gray in color. The pick-up fled the scene and was last seen travelling westbound into the City of Schenectady, the direction it was heading prior to the accident. It likely sustained significant front end damage. We are following certain leads in hopes of determining a make and model for the pick up, but do not have that information at this time.

Given your interaction with local insurance agencies, I was hoping you might forward this information to any contacts you might have in hopes that someone in the field might be able to provide us with any information (even anonymously) that could assist us in identifying the vehicle and driver involved.
